invite you to experience A Classic American Pastime: Outdoor Cinema at the Santa Monica Drive-in!


The summer classic returns - movies over the water and under the stars! You won't need your car to enjoy the classic ambiance of this very special event. Just bring something - or someone - to keep you warm as the Pier screens a variety of films on a huge screen under the night sky for five weeks beginning Tuesday, August 19th and Tuesday, August 26th for a great cause, The Cancer Relief Fund. Admission is FREE but tickets will be required for entry. Please note that the August events will be held on TUESDAYS this season. Join us for the first three FRIDAYS in September as well!



EVENT: Outdoor Cinema at the Santa Monica Drive-in!

September 5, 12, 19, 13, 20 & 27;
Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the movies start at sunset (approximately 8:00PM). Come early to get a good spot!

TICKETS: Admission is free but tickets are required. Tickets are available on the Wednesday prior to each weeks' screening starting August 30. Tickets must be picked up in advance at any of the following locations:

RENTAL CHAIRS Comfy folding chairs will be available for $5.00. Proceeds benefit the Cancer Relief Fund.

PARKING Public Parking is available in the Beach Lots near the Pier for $5-$8 per vehicle. Please check hours and cost of the lots before parking. You can also walk, bike or ride the bus!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • - No cars allowed!
  • - The Pier is often chilly at sunset, then warmer after dark. Bring a jacket or blanket to keep warm!
  • - Refreshments will be available for purchase.
  • - No alcohol allowed.
  • - No smoking allowed, although there are designated smoking areas available on the pier.
  • - NO VEHICLES will be allowed inside the event.Screenings will take place rain or shine.

In this heart-warming film, precocious eleven-year-old Akeelah from south Los Angeles is found to have an affinity for spelling. Despite her mother's objections, Akeelah enters a contest and eventually finds herself at the National Spelling Bee.
